Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

The threat presented to the biosecurity of other countries is treated as an extremely serious issue and it makes sense for any individual or organization wishing to export machinery into an overseas country to check in on all import laws in that country that dictate whether your shipment will be deemed satisfactory under those legislations.

What is soiled machinery?

Vehicles that work the land are susceptible to difficulty in thorough cleaning, with the potential for organic matter to be passed on as it is taken from the land and transferred while remaining in the machinery. As land-working vehicles and machinery harbour the seeds and other living organisms that thrive here in Australia, those organic matters may pose a true threat to the country for export, which is considered as a breech of the biosecurity laws. To avoid the potential fines and likelihood of refused entry, it is imperative that the cleaning process you adopt eliminates any possibility of this occurring.

Thorough cleaning is a time consuming process that can be carried out by you or an external cleaning service.

The main categories for concern in organic matter include but are not limited to:

  • Pests
  • Disease
  • Weeds

It is extremely important to consider the consequences, however of failing to clean machinery in order for it to be accepted into the country you wish to send it. Agricultural laws in many countries are able to re-export machinery at your expense if it is deemed unfit for entrance to the receiving country, so enquire with the Kenter customer service team for more information regarding the fail-proof services available in preparing your machinery for export, and avoiding unnecessary costs.

If you’ve elected to prepare machinery for shipment independently, the cleaning process you take on must be thoroughly planned and it is certainly best to develop a checklist that ensures no area of that machinery has been missed. Kenter has provided a breakdown of the cleaning process that should be carried out in order to secure a good clean machine for export.

Cleaning your machine for export

You will need:

  • High pressure cleaning system, both water and air
  • Paint scraper
  • Wire bottle brush
  • Vacuum cleaner
  • Industrial torch
  • Stable light source

The three-round clean

Run the machine for a period of time before you begin your clean. This loosens any particles from the machinery that would otherwise come away after you finish. Aim to go top to bottom on your machine three times. Start at the top but between each round, start and run the machine again to loosen any material that previously stayed stuck in the machinery.

Work your way down.

The best practise is to consider the machine as you clean from top to bottom, and to consider the material you are removing from the heaviest soiling to the lightest.

Keep it dry if you can.

Firstly, remove all dirt, from the top of the vehicle to bottom by using the air pressure cleaner. Heavy dirt may be softened with water pressure cleaner and a detergent product if necessary but the process of the clean will be easier if heavy dirt can be removed when it is dry. Particularly stubborn dirt will need extra attention to be sure none is missed.

The finishing touches

The final stage of cleaning will include an extremely thorough vacuuming of the machinery. The aim is to remove all the material from difficult areas, and the best line of defence to provide a thorough clean here is a high-powered industrial strength vacuum cleaner with long arm extension and a slim suction head for tight crevices.

Be sure.

All loosened particles of dirt as they are removed should be accounted for. Any reservoirs or areas that may harbour dropped dirt and be particularly diligent in areas of concern where the design of the machinery is particularly tight. Areas that will be checked the most thoroughly will be hard-to reach areas. It is up to you to be persistent.

Once your machinery is spotless, it is imperative that it is not operated and stored in an environment that does not compromise its neutrality.
